Ultimate Symmetry and Balance

BTL (Bridge-Tied Load) Design

The ultimate symmetry and balance incorporated into the TAD-M2500TX's circuitry and layout drives a diaphragm of a speaker with utmost precision. Its BTL (bridge-tied load) design connects two physically and electrically separate amplifiers in a balanced configuration for the left and right channels in the amplification circuit, which produces an incredible 550 watts of power per channel, from input through to output stages. Furthermore, separate power supply circuits and transformers drive the left and right channels and ensure that positive and negative output signals are perfectly symmetrical.

Machined Aluminum Chassis

90 kg Solid Aluminum Block Construction

TAD-M2500TX's chassis is machined from a 90 kg solid block of aluminum. Its heavy and joint-free design virtually eliminates an adverse effect of external vibrations and helps stabilize the ground potential to further increase the purity of music signals delivered to speakers. The immense body of the TAD-M2500TX provides both exceptional sturdiness and ultra-high internal-loss characteristics, both contributing to its superb sound quality. The supporting feet at the bottom with a spike structure keep external vibrations from traveling through the feet.

The immense body of the TAD-M2500TX is supported by a three-point support structure with internally inverted spikes, which physically isolates its chassis from external vibrations traveling through the floor. The minimum contact with the surface on which the TAD-M2500TX sits keeps external vibrations from traveling through the feet and adversely affecting circuits and parts inside the case. This elaborate vibration-control design results in more condensed and energetic audio reproduction with spatial nuance of the music retained intact.

Heavy-duty, extra-large speaker terminals on the rear panel, similar to the ones found in the Reference Series power amplifiers, reduce mechanical and electrical stress on connected speaker cables to improve their stability.

Upgraded Power Supply

Twin High-Capacity Toroidal Transformers

The internal coil of TAD-M2500TX's high-capacity toroidal power transformers is directly connected to the power supply circuit. The shape of the cross-section of the transformer core has been redesigned to circular to achieve tighter contact between the core and coils, minimizing unwanted leakage magnetic flux and vibrations. The result is a power supply with greater purity.

Extremely low energy-conversion loss, thanks to the strong coupling between the primary and secondary winding of the transformer, and low load fluctuations resulting from parallel winding, combined with TAD's proprietary 33,000 μF electrolytic capacitors, provide the analog power supply with enhanced driving capability, even under abrupt load fluctuations, and outstanding high-speed responsiveness.

The TAD-M2500TX is powered by upgraded twin high-capacity toroidal transformers with a power rating of 1 kVA each. To increase the purity of power supply, the internal coil of the transformer is directly connected to the power supply circuit, minimizing the contact points with leading wires. Moreover, terminals for directly connected coils, mounting terminals for motherboards, and clamping screws are all made of oxygen-free copper coated with nonmagnetic materials to eliminate even the slightest magnetic distortions.

Bi-Amping Capability

Enhanced Separation and Clarity

The TAD-M2500TX offers a bi-amping option for compatible speakers. With this option, one TAD-M2500TX can be connected to the tweeter terminals of right and left speakers, and another to their woofer terminals. The bi-amping connection eliminates interference between speaker units and improves their separation. This option brings out the best of amplifiers and speakers, enabling them to deliver sound with exceptional clarity.
