Sergei Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil, Op. 37 (also known as The Great Morning and Evening Praise ) was composed in 1915 as a contribution to Russian Orthodox church music. The composition with its warm sound splendor is considered a showpiece for large choirs. For this recording with engineer Keith O. Johnson, Peter Jermihov and Richard K. Pugsley address the work with the Gloriæ Dei Cantores and members of the St. Romanos Cappella, the Patriarch Tikhon Choir and the Washington Master Chorale. The 77 singers will be accompanied by the soloists Dmitry Ivanchenko and Mariya Berezovska from the National Opera of Ukraine. Vadim Gan, Protodeacon of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, sings the exclamations of the clergy together with Dmitry Ivanchenko.
We recommend using L'Art du Son LP cleaner for wet washing your vinyl. New plates from high-quality production also benefit from this again.
